uncooperative

I grew up in Manhattan but I’ve always had a rebellious love of Brooklyn. It was edgier, cooler and saying you were from Brooklyn definitely came with a lot more street-cred than any other borough. Sadly, I’ve watched Brooklyn grow into a less accessible (via public transportation on the weekends) sister of Lower Manhattan. The slow transformation of my old neighborhood (now called TriBeCa) from inviting to elite was terrifying enough…but Brooklyn? I know I’m a little late with this observation…maybe I was in denial. But I now know what marks the official END of Brooklyn… (and no, it’s not the Urban Outfitters–although that was frightening, too)

Barney’s Co-op on Atlantic Avenue. YIKES.
