the cure

I love getting manicures and pedicures and my favorite place to go is SoHo Nails on West Broadway. They’re a cheap no frills beauty maintenance stop: Brazilian Bikini Wax for $25, are you kidding me? Manicure/pedicure $29–woohoo. BUT as cheap as their services are I still respect my budget and space out my visits. In between the professional salon services I take some matters into my own hands…with the help of Tweezerman and Diamancel Hand files and Foot files… The trick is to put a crappy movie or TV show on that doesn’t require your undivided attention. Any of the Bravo Real Housewives shows will do. Use oil to moisten your cuticles and calluses, I sometimes use olive oil. (Of course I do…I’m Italian.) Soak your feet while you work on your hands. The trick is to polish after you’ve cleaned up the mess (water bucket, towels, cotton balls, tools, etc.) so you won’t risk smudging and ruining all that hard work!

My latest color is from the new OPI Femme de Cirque collection and it’s called, So Many Clowns…So Little Time. It’s neutral and sheer enough for my untrained hands to slap on without looking trashtastic.

Side note: I have not attempted the home-bikini treatment but if I do I will blog about it…and I promise to spare you any photographic evidence.
